Union Committee definition

Union Committeemeans the committee at the Union Parishad level responsible for, inter alia, the implementation and supervision of the sub-projects. “Union Parishad� and the acronym “UP� means the elected local government body, established under the Local Government (Union Parishads) Ordinance and provided for by the Constitution of Bangladesh, and which, inter alia, is responsible, within its territorial jurisdiction, for the: (a) coordination of public service delivery and its providers; (b) maintenance of public order and conflict resolution and mediation; and (c) preparation and implementation of plans relating to public services and economic development.
