Illness Leave definition

Illness Leave.ÌýThe employee is unable to perform the job due to "a serious health condition".
Illness LeaveÌýmeans the period of time an Employee is absent from work with full pay by virtue of being ill or disabled, exposed to a contagious disease, or under examination or treatment of a physician, chiropractor, or dentist, or because of an accident for which compensation is not payable under the Workersâ€� Compensation Act.
Illness Leave.ÌýA permanent employee who has exhausted all paid illness leave, vacation, and other available paid leaves shall be granted additional unpaid illness leave for a period not to exceed six (6) months. The leave may be renewed for two (2) additional six (6) month periods. The total of all paid and unpaid illness leave allowed shall not exceed eighteen (18) months.

Examples of Illness Leave in a sentence

  • Industrial Accident or Illness Leave shall commence on the first day of absence.

  • Family Care Leave includes Parental Leave and Family Illness Leave.

  • Industrial Accident or Illness Leave shall be reduced by one (1) day for each day of authorized absence regardless of a temporary disability indemnity award.

  • Industrial Accident or Illness Leave shall not accumulate from year to year.

  • Industrial Accident and Illness Leave shall be available to members of the bargaining unit as authorized by Education Code Section 88192, the Labor Code, and other applicable Workers Compensation Laws.

  • Involuntary Personal Illness Leave for Employees Determined to be Unfit for Duty.

  • Upon subsequent notification that the absence has been accepted as an Industrial Accident or Illness Leave the regular sick leave balance will then be adjusted to its previous balance.

  • An employee who is participating in a scheduled ongoing series of treatments or therapy shall be eligible to accumulate time off for such purposes in order that it may be credited under the provisions of Short Term Illness Leave.

  • Requests for Family Medical Leave, Personal Illness Leave, and Child Care Leave must be made to The Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) via telephone or online at xxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx not less than thirty (30) working days before commencement of the leave except under circumstances beyond the Employee’s control.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave granted to an employee under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.

Absence of more than one day for a single illness or injury shall count as only one occurrence. However, in any situation where first day insurance is applicable, there shall be no discipline.

SUBSTITUTE EMPLOYEE as referenced in Article 1, B. TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES as referenced in Article 1, C. TERMINATION means severance from employment such as absence without leave, resignation or dismissal. (Article 25) TRANSPORTATION HIRE DATE is the date an employee officially begins work in a permanent position within the District is considered part of the bargaining unit and is covered by all Articles in this contract. The initial hire date will not serve as the Transportation hire date for route bidding. A Transportation hire date will be the basis for route bidding. WORK DAY is defined as a day designated as a report day for a classified staff group as defined by the District’s official work calendar. (Article 1, C.) WRITTEN DECISIONS are those set forth in writing in a grievance process by the Principal, Supervisor, Superintendent or Employee Relations Board. (Article 26, B.)

  • paternity leave means a period of absence from work on leave by virtue of section 80A or 80B of the Employment Rights Act 1996;
